Crystal Charity Ball
(Continued)

The audiovisual was conducted by Evelyn Clark (Business Manager), and Jerry Randall (JR Audio Visual). Additional panel representatives included Sr. Corporal Robert Hinojo (Dallas Police Dept. - East Dallas Storefront), Robert Rinker (President and Chairman), and Patrick Manning (Past President and Chairman).

On Thursday, February 7, 2002, at 4:00 p.m. we received the exciting telephone call announcing Jonathan's Place as one of the winners. Jonathan’s Place received the largest award of the seven charities chosen - $750,000. Funds were awarded for Phase I construction of the expansion project.

Crystal Charity Ball ladies have worked diligently to raise an estimated $4 to 5 million. Funds were raised by grant writing, corporate solicitation, individual solicitation, the date book pages, contribution ticket sales to win gift donations, photo album sales, and sponsorship and table sales for the annual ball in December 2002. Funds will be disbursed to the charities in March 2003.

Lydia H. Novakov served as Ball Chairman for 2002, Gloria Eulich-Martindale was 2002 Underwriting Chairman, Margo E. Goodwin was 2002 Grants Chairman, and Sissy Cullum was 2002 Charity Selection Chairman.

Special thanks to Nancy Hoak and Vicki Chapman, who served as the researchers for Jonathan’s Place. The selection process involved thorough research of the 37 eligible charities by the Charity Selection Committee. Final selection of the charities came after three rounds of presentations. The active and associate members vote by ballot to determine each year’s Beneficiaries. Without guidance and support from Nancy Hoak and Vicki Chapman, this gift would not have been possible.
